Here’s a list of hurricane supplies we put together for you:
- Dry, canned and non-perishable food (Enough for at least a three day supply)
- Water: One gallon of water per person for drinking and sanitation (Enough for at least three days)
- Household chlorine bleach and medicine dropper . When diluted (nine parts water to one part bleach), this can be used as a disinfectant or in an emergency. You can also treat water by using 16 drops of regular household liquid bleach per gallon of water. Do not use scented, colour safe or bleaches with added cleaners
- Manual can opener
- Flashlights
- Battery-powered radio (preferably a weather radio)
- Extra batteries for all battery operated gadgets
- First aid kit with latex gloves, sterile dressings, soap/cleaning agent, antibiotic ointment, burn ointment, adhesive bandages in small, medium and large sizes, eye wash, thermometer, aspirin/pain reliever, anti-diarrhea tablets, antacids, laxatives, small scissors, tweezers & petroleum jelly
- Small fire extinguisher
- Whistles for each person
- At least a seven-day supply of prescription medications
- Equipped tool box or a multipurpose tool with pliers and a screwdriver
- Cell phones and chargers
- Contact information for family
- A sleeping bag for each person

- Silver foil emergency blanket
