We spent an incredible week at Joias with our family, and our friends family. In all we had 6 kids under the age of 10, and everyone had more than enough room. The kids loved the pool, and being on the water was great- the kids loved seeing all of the Sea Turtles! South Point surf break was 200 yards down the beach from the house, and Freights Bay was a short drive/long walk (a mile or so). Miami Beach was also a short drive away, and it was nice to have a beach with some shade to keep the kids out of the sun. Oistins Fish Market is close by as well, and in addition to the Friday Night Fish Fry, it was a great place to pick up a fresh catch to grill up at Joias! We honestly couldn’t have had a better time, and look forward to coming back again soon!

We have returned from a wonderful 11 days at Joias. Idyllic. A stunning property in a magical location. Whether the sun is coming up or going down your reserved seating is guaranteed. A wonderfully short distance from Grantley Adams Airport and equally very convenient for all local amenities. Sharon, the housekeeper, could not be more helpful, always there, always smiling. Our morning walks, either to Surfer’s Beach or Miami Beach were one of the many highlights of our stay. There are too many highlights to mention, you will just have to go and find out for yourselves. Please play Golf, please be a Tourist, there is just so much to do and see. Have fun. Do not forget eat, drink and be happy, a better place you could not find.

I thought you might like to know that I received a very nice email yesterday from Adrienne Frazier. Her party very much enjoyed their week at Joias and she was delighted with how well everything went for the wedding. She was particularly complimentary about both of you and how helpful you were. Adam and I would like to thank you too. It is a great comfort to know that things are being so well looked after especially when we are such a long way away.
Surpassed all expectations! Joias is a wonderful location for a group getaway, as it has plenty of space, all the gadgets you need in a house (including wireless internet) and enough privacy to feel like a home away from home. The entire setting is beautiful with a swimming pool that overlooks the ocean; a gazebo; and well-furnished living areas. A car is highly recommended which is easily rented online and collectable from the airport, having a car allowed us to take advantage of the house’s proximity to Miami Beach, Oistins Fish Village and the party scene in St Lawrence Gap. It is also pretty easy to navigate around the island and see the Caves, do the submarine tour in Bridgetown, visit St. James, visit some botanical gardens, do zip line adventures etc. The Island Gold team, especially Cindy and Janine, were incredibly organized and helpful in providing advice. They even arranged some basic provisions to be in the house on our arrival so we could settle in comfortably without worrying about our stomachs. Self-catering is the most cost-effective way of travelling in a group as why would one want to be at the mercy of hotel food prices? It was very straightforward to get extra groceries from Oistins or Bridgetown. Barbados is 1/3 of the size of London so travelling from place to place doesn’t take too long. Furthermore, on our first night Island Gold Realty arranged for a local chef to prepare a traditional Barbadian feast for 10 which included macaroni pie (to which we became instantly addicted) and specially prepared chicken, rice, salads and plantain. It was superb and the perfect welcome to our holiday. The beach outside the house is rocky but I understand that the area is better for surfing than the more placid sea on the west coast. (Also the sound of the waves crashing at night is the perfect lullaby.) One can walk a little along the water’s edge and there is the odd crab or brightly colored snail to shells see if one is interested in that sort of thing. For genuine beach experience, the aforementioned Miami Beach is just a stone’s throw away by just jumping in the car and following the coast. If you’re going on holiday to Barbados and you are more than 6 people — I highly recommend that you stay at Joias. Recommended for: Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children.
Fantastic place, dream holiday. We loved this place. It is hugely spacious and the swimming pool and gardens are great. It was fantastic eating on the terrace overlooking the sea and watching the turtles pop up every few minutes. I paddle boarded past the house from Surfers Point to Oistins which was awesome. Great area of the island, much better than the West Coast, in my view.
We have just spent an incredible week in paradise! What a beautiful spacious house, with every comfort anyone could hope for, including exceptionally friendly and helpful staff!

The location was excellent. Hi Janine, we really enjoyed ourselves while at the Sea Star, the staff and security were very helpful and friendly. The location was excellent for getting around without a car, we did take a taxi for Bridgetown and fish market. The apartment had everything to make our stay comfortable. We had a excellent time, hoping in the future to come back to Barbados and staying on the beach like the Sea Star or other rentals you may have at that time on the beach. Luxurious holiday apartment — excellent value. The apartment is beautiful, luxurious, very clean with top of the range facilities and in an ideal position for the lovely beach and only a 10 minute walk to local restaurants and clubs meant we were away from the centre of St. Lawrence Gap with it’s loud music till the early hours. The only music problem we had was from the Sports Bar across the road but that was only 2 nights out of the 10 nights we stayed there and it did stop around midnight. The apartment facilities were as described apart from the hairdryer which we had to ask for but which was provided the following day. The 3rd bedroom was a disappointment in that we were 2 couples + 2 female friends. The 3rd bedroom is about half the size of the other 2 which are huge, luxurious and with fantastic en-suites whereas the 3rd bedroom’s bathroom is off the main corridor. As we had already split the cost of accommodation evenly between us all the 2 friends sharing the 3rd bedroom enjoyed considerably less than the rest of us. We also found when we moved in that the picture of the 3rd bedroom showed 2 single beds but they had been made up as 1 double bed. When we queried this we were told that we had not requested it to be made up as 2 singles. In the end the 2 friends left it as a double as the bed was so big – also if the bed had been split into 2 singles the bedroom would have been even smaller to get around. Local supermarkets were 5 minutes away and the wonderful bus service, 10 minutes walk away. Local taxis were plentiful. We all had a fantastic holiday and would recommend the apartment to anyone. Make sure when you visit Barbados that you experience Oistins on Friday night, the Segway tour and the Jammin catamaran cruise; all of which are recommended by all of our party. Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities, Romantic Getaway.
Beautiful accommodation. Janine, Thank you very much for your follow-up. We have had a whirlwind schedule since we have been back to our usual life. Barbados continues to grow as a more frequent destination for us. Accommodations like 303 Sapphire made the visit even more enjoyable. The accommodation was beautiful and is a quality facility. It was comfortable, functional, beautiful (the artwork is a wonderful touch) and the surroundings were perfect. Even the beds were really wonderful to sleep in. I would definitely return to that condo. Thank you for making the arrangements seamless and easy.
